Job description

Sewell Wallis is partnering with a fantastic business based in Harrogate as they look to recruit a Senior Finance Manager - FP&A on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This financially solid business continues to grow through acquisition, with many planned acquisitions during this period. They are seeking an experienced financial planning and analysis manager to support them during this exciting time.

This company is based in Harrogate and offers hybrid working. They ideally prefer 3 days in the office, but can consider 2 days for the right person.

What will you be doing?
  • Ownership of the Group's budgets and forecasts, ensuring they are robust and flexible to handle future business developments.
  • Production of key internal reporting documents related to financial planning, including PowerPoint presentations for board-level consumption, such as the annual budget and key re-forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Divisional Finance teams and non-Finance stakeholders to monitor progress against forecasts/budgets, understand variances, and re-assess forecasts as necessary.
  • Forecast and reconcile key financial measures monthly, including net debt, working capital, free cash flow, and capital expenditure.
  • Model and track compliance with the Group's banking covenants and produce quarterly reports for the banking syndicate.
  • Own the Group's going concern assessments and impairment reviews, assisting with yearly and half-yearly reporting, including liaising with auditors.
  • Regularly review the Group's financial performance for trends, issues, and opportunities, advising the Central Finance Director and CFO promptly.
  • Lead the rollout of the Group's new forecasting and budgeting tool, Vena, ensuring ongoing engagement and system improvements.
  • Drive the Group's move to enhanced BI reporting, particularly via PowerBI.
  • Lead financial modeling for ad-hoc projects, including M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives, working closely with senior management.
What skills do we need?
  • Proven experience in a similar role; experience in a contractual recurring revenue business is desirable but not essential.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Excellent IT skills, especially advanced Excel and experience designing forecast models.
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams.
