Job summary

1st Executive Ltd is seeking an Interim Senior Category Manager for Security to lead a high-value procurement programme in Reading. You will own end-to-end sourcing, market engagement, tender delivery and contract award within a highly regulated environment.

The role requires strong security category expertise, knowledge of NPSA standards, and experience handling complex procurements under current regulations. Hybrid working model supported.

Qualifications

• Strong category management or procurement experience within Security categories.
• Solid understanding of the security supplier marketplace and associated technologies.
• Experience developing category strategies, sourcing strategies, and recommendations for award.
• Knowledge of the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) standards.
• Experience delivering complex procurement under the Procurement Act 2023, or strong transferable knowledge of PCR2015/UCR regulations.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced Senior Category Manager, with specialist Security Procurement expertise to join a major transformation project, within a highly regulated environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape procurement strategy for critical security infrastructure, working on a complex programme where your commercial expertise will have a real impact.

The Role:

You’ll take ownership of an end-to-end procurement programme covering a specialist Security category, which may include:

• Electronic security systems
• CCTV and detection technologies
• Access control solutions
• Physical security infrastructure
• Monitoring and integrated security solutions

From developing category and sourcing strategies, through to market engagement, tender delivery and contract award, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a high-value procurement programme.

Requirements:

• Strong category management or procurement experience within Security categories.
• A solid understanding of the security supplier marketplace and associated technologies
• Experience developing category strategies, sourcing strategies, and recommendations for award
• Knowledge of the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) standards
