Job summary

Baltimore Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced SEN Case Officer for an initial 3-month interim contract within the Midlands local authority. The role offers hybrid working — ideally one day per week in the office, with scope for remote working if needed.

You will manage a complex caseload of children and young people with SEND aged 0-25, coordinate EHCP needs assessments, lead annual reviews and prepare for adulthood processes, while liaising with parents, schools and health and social

Qualifications

• Experience as SEN Case Officer within a SEND statutory service.
• Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Regulations 2014 and SEND Code of Practice 2015.
• Proven EHCP caseload management with 20-week assessment timelines.
• Experience of annual reviews, EHC needs assessments, consultations and placement decisions.
• Strong communication, organisational and case management skills using SEND systems.

Your Role as SEN Case Officer

• Manage a complex caseload of children and young people with SEND aged 0-25.
• Coordinate EHC needs assessments and oversee the production, amendment and issuing of EHCPs.

• Liaise with parents, schools, health and social care professionals to secure positive outcomes.
• Support SEND Tribunals, mediation processes and the resolution of complex case concerns .

Your Previous Experience as SEN Case Officer

• Previous experience working as a SEN Case Officer within a local authority SEND statutory service.
• Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Regulations 2014 and SEND Code of Practice 2015.
• Proven track record managing EHCP caseloads and meeting statutory timescales, including the 20-week assessment process.
• Experience of annual reviews, EHC needs assessments, consultations and placement decision-making.
• Excellent communication, organisational and case management skills with experience of SEND case management systems.
