Our client is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of UK bank workers, past and present, and their families.

We help thousands of people facing financial difficulty, health challenges, caring responsibilities, domestic abuse, and more through our 40-strong staff team. We invest GBP5.4m in advice, specialist referrals, and financial assistance, along with providing practical, personalised support to those most in need.

Demand for our services remains high, and financial pressures on our organisation have increased. Consequently, we have launched a new strategy focused on deepening impact, building resilience, and reaching those most in need.

Project Manager

Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months

Location: Hybrid (typically two or three days in our London Office in the City, with the remainder from home)

Salary: GBP40K to GBP50K (dependent on experience)

This is an exciting time to join as we evolve our ways of working, develop new income streams, and strengthen our influence across the banking sector. This interim role involves leading projects to improve organisational efficiency.

Reporting directly to the CEO, key priorities include:

• Governance: review ongoing work, create a task backlog, and develop phased plans including quick wins
• Risk Management: refresh the organisational risk register, ensure it reflects current risks with clear mitigations, and review risk appetite with leadership and board using appropriate tools
• IT and Cybersecurity: coordinate outsourced IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure appropriate controls and protections
• HR: review current HR initiatives, manage the HR administrator, and deliver quick wins through HR consultants

Ideal candidates will have strong project management experience, with knowledge in charity governance, risk assessment, HR, or IT. You should understand charity processes, be an excellent communicator, highly organised, IT-savvy, and capable of simplifying complex information into clear reports. Experience working in a charity environment is essential. You should be a proactive self-starter, collaborative, and able to multi-task effectively.
