Novus Recruitment is seeking an interim Senior Packaging Technologist to support a busy site during new product development. This hands-on role requires expertise in managing packaging activities from feasibility trials to launch, ensuring packaging solutions are delivered on time and meet regulatory standards. Candidates should have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and ideally hold a degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a packaging role within food, FMCG or manufacturing.
• Pro sealer and film experience would be ideal.
• Confident working in a factory-led environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development across formats post-NPD handover.
• Deliver factory-based packaging trials and detailed reports.
• Liaise with teams and suppliers on artwork and approvals.

Interim Senior Packaging Technologist

Are you an experienced packaging technologist who can hit the ground running? We're looking for an interim Senior Packaging Technologist to step in and support a busy, high-performing site during a key period of new product development and project delivery.

This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone confident managing packaging activity from feasibility trials right through to launch.

*** Site based - open to a 4 days/week ***

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead packaging development across primary and secondary formats post-NPD handover
• Deliver factory-based packaging trials testing new ideas ahead of customer meetings providing detailed trial reports.
• Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to manage artwork, cutter guides, and print approvals.
• Maintain key packaging specs and directories
• Support packaging waste reporting and contribute to wider group projects
• Attend site-based meetings and play an active role in delivering packaging solutions to tight timelines

What We're Looking For

• Immediately available
• Previous experience in a packaging role within food, FMCG or manufacturing
• Familiar with various types of packaging and associated regulations - pro sealer and film experience would be ideal.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving mindset
• Confident working in a fast-paced, factory-led environment
• Ideally educated to degree level in a science or technical subject-but relevant experience is key.
