? Interim Medical Devices Safety Officer (MDSO) | Healthcare | London | Outside IR35 | £400–£500/day ?

Location: London-based, hybrid working (2–3 days on-site per week)

Contract: 3-6 months, 3 days per week

Day Rate: £400-£500 per day (outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP - May 2025

We’re partnering with a high-profile healthcare organisation in London that is urgently seeking an experienced Interim Medical Devices Safety Officer (MDSO) to take the lead on medical device safety and governance across the trust.

This critical role will see you shape and implement frameworks that ensure patient safety, compliance and governance standards are upheld across the use, procurement and management of all medical devices.

Working collaboratively with procurement, clinical, and governance teams, you’ll help embed best-practice processes that are both strategically aligned and operationally robust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the designated MDSO and provide expert advice to senior leadership on all medical device safety matters
  • Oversee the implementation and improvement of safety and governance protocols across clinical areas
  • Assure the Board and governance committees on safety performance, risk mitigation and escalation procedures
  • Collaborate closely with procurement and clinical engineering teams to strengthen device selection, incident management and reporting structures
  • Develop training, awareness and reporting mechanisms to support a culture of safety and compliance
You Will Bring:

Previous experience in a senior MDSO role within a UK healthcare setting

In-depth knowledge of medical device governance, procurement procedures and regulatory requirements

Strong ability to operate at pace in high-pressure environments, delivering immediate impact

Collaborative working style with a track record of influencing change across multidisciplinary teams
