Job summary

Rutherford Recruitment is seeking an experienced interim Cost Accountant to support the Controlling team through year end, with a possible extension beyond February. The role involves costing runs, standard cost reviews and variance analysis, with travel to the site along the M4 corridor.

Four days on site and one day from home, mainly based in the Thames Valley. Strong cost accounting expertise in manufacturing and the ability to pull data directly from the system are essential.

• Detail focused, self-sufficient, keen to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare costing runs and standard cost reviews.
• Analyze production and price variance, identify root causes.
• Review transactions to ensure process adherence.
• Monitor productivity, utilisation and efficiency KPIs and report to Production.
• Support month-end close, cost of sales reviews and reporting.
• Improve finance processes and strengthen controls.

I'm working exclusively with a global manufacturer who needs an experienced interim to support their Controlling team through year end, until at least February with potential to extend.

The role

• Costing runs and standard cost reviews
• Production and price variance analysis, getting to the root cause and following it through
• Reviewing transactions to make sure processes are followed
• Productivity, utilisation and efficiency KPIs, feeding back to Production
• Month end support, including cost of sales reviews and reporting
• Improving finance processes while strengthening controls

Location
