Job summary

Michael Page’s client in Harrogate is seeking an experienced HR professional to step into a broad and influential role within a respected charity. You’ll provide strategic and operational HR expertise, leading on employee relations, organisational change, people projects and workforce planning.

The role reports to the People Director, offers a 6-month fixed-term contract with immediate start possible, hybrid working and a 4-day week option, plus on-site parking and a chance to make a real impact

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience as HR Manager or senior HR leadership.
  • Expertise in employee relations, including complex case management.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong HR data reporting skills and ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

  • Manage and develop a small HR team to deliver a high-quality people service.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.

Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to step into a broad and influential role within a respected charitable organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll provide both strategic and operational HR expertise, leading on employee relations, organisational change, people projects and workforce planning.

The organisation is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing credibility, confidence and practical HR leadership from day one. As such, applicants should be available immediately or able to start within the next month and be committed to the full 6-month contract.

Profile

We're looking for an experienced and commercially-minded HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly establish credibility with stakeholders at all levels.

You’ll ideally demonstrate:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, including complex case management.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using HR data and reporting to influence outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience within the charity, education, care, healthcare or wider not-for-profit sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
Job Offer

£41,500 FTE
