Job description

The Interim HR Advisor manage the advisory activity within the business and escalate matters accordingly within the team. You will work closely with the HRBP on all HR matters as well as building strong relationships with line managers across all areas of the organisation.

Description

The interim HR Advisor will:

  • Work alongside the HRBP & HR Manager to drive the alignment and execution of the People Strategies & Plans in order to develop, keep and enhance the contribution of employees to the short and long-term business needs.
  • Support and drive initiatives - ensure the culture and working environment is open, fair and equitable promoting an environment of open communication.
  • Support and coach line managers in the implementation of core people processes - e.g., absence management, performance Management, disciplinary, grievance etc.
  • Prepare training materials and arrange and deliver training/coaching for Line Managers
  • Support the induction and on-boarding programme of new starters
  • Manage the planning of development/training activities to suit the business needs alongside the Training Manager
  • Responsible for managing ER cases from dismissal through to appeal and work with the HRBP & HRM on complex cases.
  • Work with line managers to understand their needs and implement training and development plan to upskill their capability to deal with performance, ER, absence and conduct issues.
  • Ensure Performance Management system is embedded to support achievement of company goals through individual objectives and the performance of these objectives.
  • Liaise with OH regarding long term sickness and ill health assessments. Work alongside the site safety department to ensure safety and compliance on site.
  • Work as part of cross-functional / HR team to develop HR practice and process developments that contribute to enhancing the total HR value add.
  • Collate, combine and produce the weekly and monthly UK HR reports.
  • Provide analysis of UK HR data to support continued improvement (turnover, absence rates etc);
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Lead with recruitment when required
  • Support with processing Monthly Payroll in the absence of Payroll Coordinator
  • Support employees and managers with payroll queries in absence of Payroll Coordinator
  • Help and support manage the T&A System (add new starters, amend shift patterns, holiday queries, manager support)
  • Support to ensure HR SAP system is up to date with new starter / leaver / change details
  • Understand how to raise and manage Right to Work & Security checks for all new starters through Experian
  • Review Probationary Review paperwork to ensure all relevant issues are dealt with proactively and training plans are being adhered to;
  • Build on the good working relationship with the current Union on site;
  • Support adhoc HR Projects to deliver change and good practice across the site.

Profile

The successful Interim HR Advisor should be/have:

  • Experience of working as a HR Advisor, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Available to start a new role quickly and commit until the end of the year
