Job summary

Brava Education is assisting a maintained early years school in North West London to appoint an Interim Headteacher for the full academic year, September 2026 to July 2027.

The role is a rare part-time headship, around 3.5 days per week, with 5 days considered if preferred. Interviews will be arranged promptly for a start in the first week of September, with a handover from the outgoing headteacher at term start.

Qualifications

• Headship experience or readiness to step into a first headship.
• Early years leadership or primary leader with genuine early years experience.
• Ofsted experience is a strong advantage given timing.
• Experience with SEND is welcome; in-house SEND support exists.

Responsibilities

• Provide confident leadership for a settled school community.
• Lead the school through its Ofsted window, opening in September.
• Work within a managed budget plan agreed with the local authority.

Brava Education is working with a welcoming maintained early years school in North West London to appoint an Interim Headteacher for the full academic year, September 2026 to July 2027.

This is a rare part-time headship, around 3.5 days per week. However 5 days will be considered if that is the candidates preference.

About the school

• A wonderfully diverse community, with most children speaking English as an additional language and a high proportion on SEN support

The role

About you

• An early years leader, or a primary leader with genuine early years experience
• Established headteachers and experienced deputies ready to step up to a first headship are both encouraged to apply
• Ofsted experience is a strong advantage given the timing
• General SEND experience is welcome; specialist SEND is covered in-house
• Comfortable leading a small, close-knit setting
