Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an experienced interim Head of Tax for the Financial Services sector through our Agile Talent Community. You will oversee tax strategy, compliance with UK tax laws, and risk management, working on short- to medium-term assignments with client teams.

The ATC enables flexible engagements without admin overhead, offering connection to a broad network of professionals and projects while maintaining direct collaboration with our Tax practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified in ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent.
• Experience handling UK employment tax and indirect tax.
• Ability to lead and mentor tax teams and engage with HMRC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with UK tax laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
• Manage relationships with HMRC and external tax advisors.
• Lead and mentor the tax team, providing guidance and support.
• Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
• Provide strategic tax advice to senior management and other stakeholders.
