Interim Head of Finance

My client is seeking an experienced and organized Interim Head of Finance to lead a busy finance team within a medium-sized organization based in East Kent for 3-6 months. The successful candidate will support senior leadership and ensure smooth financial reporting and management processes, oversee financial functions, and implement effective financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead production of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate financial reports, monitor accounts, and support financial forecasting and strategy.
  • Present financial updates to the Financial Audit Committee and Board.
  • Assist in developing budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Review monthly accounts, including balance sheets and reconciliations.
  • Manage VAT compliance and statutory accounts for audit.
  • Act as main contact for external partners such as banks, HMRC, and auditors.
  • Manage Strategic Reserves and Investments.

About You

  • Full or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA professional.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, management accounts, cash flow, VAT, and audits.
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of charity accounting (SORP), managing funds, and trading subsidiaries.
  • Experience with project accounting, investment management, Power BI, VAT issues, and Charity Tax Relief is advantageous.

Salary: c£50,000 FTE, plus hybrid working.
