Interim Head of Finance | Federal Government | 6-month contract

Interim Head of Finance role with our Commonwealth government client for an initial 6-month period.

Your new company

Our client is a federal government organisation seeking a dynamic senior finance professional to lead the finance team on an interim basis.

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure the smooth running of the finance function. Key duties will include :

• Plan and coordinate statutory reporting, preparation of financial statements and reporting to the Government.
• Develop and maintain the internal control environment.
• Preparation of annual budgets and forecasting.
• Oversight of the finance system and continuous improvement of processes.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience of leading a finance function within the Australian public service at state or federal level.
• Strong understanding of legislative and policy frameworks underpinning financial management within the public sector.
• Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain baseline security clearance.
