Job summary

The CFO HQ seeks an Interim Head of Finance for Greater Manchester, offering hybrid working and flexible hours. The role requires senior financial leadership to guide critical decisions during an interim period.

You will partner with the Executive Team, Board and lenders, delivering stability, insights and hands-on leadership to the finance function while permanent recruitment completes.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant senior finance leadership experience.
• Experience in social housing or regulated environments is valuable.
• Experience partnering with Executives, Boards, committees, auditors and lenders.
• Experience in interim roles delivering stability and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
• Lead monthly management reporting and provide clear financial insight to senior leaders.
• Handle statutory accounts, audit, regulatory returns and external reporting.
• Manage financial controls, systems, governance and assurance.
• Support the Executive Team, Board and Committees with advice, challenge and recommendations.
• Lead and develop the finance team and drive process improvements.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is a highly visible senior leadership role with responsibility for providing strong financial leadership, maintaining financial resilience and ensuring the organisation has the insight, control and assurance needed to support effective decision-making.This is an interim-only appointment, providing leadership and continuity while the permanent recruitment process is completed. We are looking for someone who can quickly understand the organisation, build credibility with senior stakeholders and provide confident leadership to the finance team from the outset.
