Job description
Overview

Interim Head of Finance role with a Dundee based organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This role is on site three days per week and offering a salary circa £60,000 to £65,000 p.a. You will be leading a team and setting strategic direction for the Research function while being responsible for the provision of direct support and guidance for grant applications. You will be responsible for maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and the wider accounting function.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pre and post award finance grant related matters
  • Supporting grant applications, partnering with operational leadership
  • Working closely with the funding body ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Full understanding of key accounting principles, financial concepts
  • Leading on all strategic decision making for the team while managing the completeness and accuracy of research data
  • Provision of research data for internal and external reporting
  • Communicating policies and procedures designed to support good practice
  • Internal and external audit
  • Extensive managerial experience at a senior level, leading a sizeable team
  • Building and maintaining strong communication links with key stakeholders
  • Experience with grant applications and grant administration is highly desirable. You will be responsible for final sign off on grant applications
Qualifications

You will be a qualified accountant with experience managing a team within a complex organisation. You will ideally have had exposure to research grants and understand a complex grant application environment.
