Job description

SF Recruitment is currently working with a fantastically socially purposed public sector organisation in the recruitment of an interim Head of Finance. The Head of Finance will have overall responsibility for managing all financial aspects of the Trust including financial planning, management and reporting.

This is a 3-month assingment.

Key tasks:

- The Head of Finance will have overall responsibility for managing all financial aspects of the Trust including financial planning, management, and reporting.
- To provide strategic financial advice to the Director of Resources and Governance and the wider executive management team to ensure the Trust meets its financial and legal obligations.
- To develop and implement the Trust's short, medium and long-term financial strategy, budgets and forecasts to support the trusts objectives in line with the Trust's financial governance structure.
- To oversee all financial transactions, accounting matters and cash flow management. To promote financial management and strong financial controls.
- To prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including annual accounts and management information, providing narrative and solutions to any areas of concern/overspend.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements and internal policies identifying areas of risk.
- Providing financial advice, guidance, budget forecasts and financial modelling to senior management on strategic decision and business initiatives.
- To identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve financial deficiencies.
- Manage and develop the finance team providing guidance and support. Lead by example, striving to help build a sustainable, highly effective service that delivers exceptional value for the Trust
- To manage the budgets allocated to the post in accordance with the Trust's agreed priorities, financial regulations and accounting instructions.
- Ability to maximise grants utilisation and introduction of grants from other third parties.
- To lead the administration team to create a fit for purpose business admin facility.
- To act as an exemplar of the Trust's Values.
