Job DescriptionJob Title: Interim Head of Data, Performance and Planning
Client: A community housing provider based in South East London
Location: South East London / Hybrid
Contract Type: Interim – 3 to 6 months (covering perm recruitment)
Rate: £600 per day (outside IR35)
Reports to: Director of Governance, Business Change & Performance
Essential Requirement: Must have experience working at a senior level in social housing

Role Overview: A community housing provider based in South East London is seeking an experienced interim professional to take up the role of Head of Data, Performance and Planning, responsible for leading corporate performance reporting, strategic planning, and data governance. You will help shape organisational transformation and continuous service improvement while maintaining data integrity and reporting excellence across all functions.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:


  • Lead and deliver the organisation’s data strategy and performance framework



  • Establish and maintain a robust Data Governance Framework



  • Support corporate and service planning and transformational programmes



  • Deputise for the Director of Governance, Business Change and Performance as required



Performance, Planning & Reporting:


  • Lead the organisational reporting framework including Board, ET and regulatory submissions



  • Oversee corporate planning cycles and service improvement project alignment



  • Develop KPIs and dashboard reporting in collaboration with IT and operational teams



  • Manage the Programme Management Office (PMO)



Data & Compliance:


  • Lead a culture of high-quality data across the organisation



  • Act as Data Controller – ensure all policies and practices meet data protection legislation



  • Recommend and maintain best practice in information management



  • Liaise with the Head of IT on effective file structures and digital safeguarding



Team Leadership:


  • Manage and develop the Business Insight Manager and Programme & Planning Manager



  • Foster a collaborative team culture focused on service excellence



  • Inspire and support the professional development of team members



Person Specification: Essential Skills & Experience:


  • Senior-level experience in data management, business insight, and performance reporting



  • Expertise in strategic planning and service transformation within social housing



  • Strong knowledge of data integrity, data cleaning, analytics and governance



  • Advanced user of Excel, Power BI, SQL, and data warehousing tools



  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentational



  • Experienced in reporting to Executive Teams and Boards



  • Proven ability to manage budgets and high-performing teams



  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex data projects and initiatives



Desirable:


  • Relevant governance, performance or data qualifications



  • Experience managing major change programmes and corporate planning cycles
