Beyond Talent Solutions Ltd is helping a PLC in Sheffield appoint an Interim Financial Controller on an initial 3-month contract. The role is hands-on and focused on robust financial control, reporting and governance.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will own day-to-day financial control, lead month-end, support statutory accounts and audit, and work with senior stakeholders on process improvements during a period of change.

Qualifications

• Qualified or qualified by experience accountant with a strong background in financial control within a complex or PLC environment.
• Strong month end and financial reporting experience.
• Experience operating within a PLC or similarly structured organisation.
• Excellent understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Hands-on, pragmatic approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ideally, experience of working in an interim or change-focused capacity.

Responsibilities

• Leading and overseeing the month end close process.
• Producing accurate and timely management and financial reporting.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with PLC requirements.
• Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and audit requirements.
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and identifying areas requiring attention.
• Managing and improving financial processes and controls.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders across the wider business.
• Supporting finance transformation and process improvement initiatives where required.
• Providing hands-on support to the finance team during a period of change.

Interim Financial Controller

Sheffield 3 Month Initial Contract

We are working with a well established PLC business based in Sheffield that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller on an initial 3 month contract, with the potential for the role to be extended or to become a permanent appointment.

This is a hands on opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join the business at an important time and play a key role in ensuring robust financial control, reporting and governance across the organisation.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial control environment and support the wider finance function across reporting, controls and month end activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and overseeing the month end close process
• Producing accurate and timely management and financial reporting
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with PLC requirements
• Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and audit requirements
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and identifying areas requiring attention

About You

We are looking for a qualified or qualified by experience accountant with a strong background in financial control within a complex or PLC environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Financial Controller
• Strong month end and financial reporting experience
• Experience operating within a PLC or similarly structured organisation
• Excellent understanding of financial controls and accounting processes
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• The ability to quickly understand a business and make an immediate impact
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on, pragmatic approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ideally, experience of working in an interim or change-focused capacity
