A high-growth technology firm in London is seeking an Interim Group Finance Manager for a 6-month contract. The role offers a competitive day rate of £550-650 depending on experience. You will oversee management accounting and reporting for newly acquired businesses, manage consolidations, and ensure financial accuracy. The position provides exposure to high-profile acquisitions and strategic projects. Hybrid working is available with 2-3 days in the office.

Qualifications

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), ideally trained in audit.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS101/FRS102) and IFRS.
  • Proven track record in management accounting and reporting.
  • Experience managing consolidations and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver management accounts for acquired entities.
  • Consolidate acquired businesses into Group reporting.
  • Lead the month-end close process for acquisitions.
  • Provide financial insight during due diligence phases.
  • Support the preparation of opening balance sheets for newly acquired businesses.
  • Ensure robust controls through timely balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Act as primary contact for external auditors.
  • Partner with commercial finance teams for budgets and forecasts.
  • Document processes and contribute to finance improvement initiatives.

Intro

Cedar is currently partnered with a high-growth, private equity-backed technology and infrastructure business in London to appoint an Interim Group Finance Manager. This is a newly created 6-month contract role, offering £550-650 per day inside IR35 depending on experience. The position has been designed to provide immediate impact by overseeing management accounting and financial reporting for newly acquired businesses, ensuring seamless integration into Group results.

The finance function is central to their ambitious growth journey, providing senior management with the insight and control needed to support complex decision-making.

Core responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver management accounts for acquired entities, ensuring accuracy across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
  • Consolidate acquired businesses into Group reporting, producing high-quality monthly management accounts, group consolidations and board-level packs.
  • Lead the month-end close process for acquisitions, including reconciliations, intercompany adjustments and posting journals from UK GAAP to IFRS.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis during the due diligence phase of acquisitions, working closely with project managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and finalisation of opening balance sheets for newly acquired businesses.
  • Ensure robust controls through timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors and advisors across statutory reporting, due diligence and integration projects.
  • Partner with commercial finance teams to incorporate acquisitions into Group budgets, forecasts and performance reviews.
  • Document processes, implement best practice and contribute to finance continuous improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and consistency.
Your Profile

You will bring:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), ideally trained in audit.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS101/FRS102) and IFRS, with demonstrable experience applying standards in a commercial environment.
  • A proven track record delivering management accounting and reporting within acquisitive or group finance settings.
  • Solid experience managing consolidations, integrations and financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs) and the ability to build analytical tools to support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders and confidence working across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Compensation & Benefits
