Job description

Location: Home-based with occasional travel

This is a 37 hours per week, temporary vacancy that will close in 2 days at 12:00 BST.

The role
Interim Governance Manager
  • Salary: £56,100 per annum plus benefits
  • Home-based with occasional travel to the office
  • Fixed Term Role: 9 months (potential for extension)
  • Closing date for applications: 13th May 2025 (Midday)

The role & responsibilities

The Governance team influences and manages Magna’s governance agenda, supporting the Head of Governance, Legal and Risk, and the Company Secretary. The Governance Manager leads the team in implementing and managing corporate governance processes to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and best practices.

  • Manage governance processes in accordance with Magna’s rules, policies, and best practices, providing advice to the Strategic and Executive Boards.
  • Oversee Board, Committee meetings, and AGMs: draft agendas, circulate papers, produce minutes.
  • Line manage the governance team for effective service delivery.
  • Support succession planning for Board members, including recruitment, training, and development of the Governance Framework.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain top governance ratings.
  • Assist in preparing reports and research on governance best practices.
Requirements for success
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate governance within the not-for-profit sector.
  • High attention to detail and good governance practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills; degree or equivalent experience.
  • CGI qualification or part qualification is advantageous.
