Are you looking for a new and exciting role within a local authority?
The Royal Borough of Greenwich are looking for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join a team responsible for the daily management of health and safety for building projects, maintenance contracts, and fire risk assessments across the borough.
You will need:
- To be a qualified fire risk assessor
- To be a member of IFE
- Experience of working as a fire risk assessor/ officer with complex social housing tenanted blocks
- To be willing to work with current team members and work with them to mentor them and share their experience
- To input on current FRA template and make improvements where necessary and work on improving processes/policies
- Ability to travel across the borough (car user allowance provided)
Duties:
- Manage fire safety compliance and fire risk assessments across council housing.
- Ensure projects follow relevant regulations, including CDM 2007 and Fire Safety legislation.
- Oversee and inspect fire safety equipment and maintenance works.
- Investigate fire incidents and recommend safety improvements.
- Liaise with Fire & Rescue Services, tenants, and contractors.
- Support and implement fire safety strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assign any remedial works to contractors and supervise and manage internal teams of contractors (up to 50 staff).
- Act as CDM Coordinator where required and review safety plans.
- Attend resident meetings, site inspections, and represent the council in court if needed.
- Contribute to emergency planning, quality management, and health & safety policies.
Rate: Negotiable
Duration: 3 month initial contract, with potential to extend
Hours: 35 p/w
