Job summary

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a short-term fire safety specialist to support a major fire compartmentalisation and fire damper survey and remedial works programme for six months. The post holder will act as the competent fire person for the project, review findings, prioritise risk-based works, and lead the implementation and assurance reporting.

You will work with the existing fire safety team across multi-site Trust services, ensuring safe, efficient service

Qualifications

• Experience in fire safety risk assessment and remedial works.
• Ability to produce technical reports and monitoring assurance.
• Ability to work across multi-site teams within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Review survey findings and risk assess the results.
• Contribute to prioritisation of risk-based remedial works and planning.
• Review existing mitigations and identify additional mitigations where needed for interim safety.
• Lead the implementation, monitoring and assurance reporting on mitigations.
• Attend the Fire Strategic Fire Group providing technical reports and assessments.
• Work closely with the existing fire safety team across sites.

Job description

The is a short term 6 month posting to support a major fire compartmentalisation and fire damper survey and remedial work programme.

Acting as the competent fire person for the project the post holder will be expected to

• review & risk assess survey findings
• contribute to the prioritisation assessment and planning of risk based remedial works
• review existing mitigations and identify additional mitigations where necessary to manage the risks in the interim of the works delivery
• lead the implementation, monitoring and assurance reporting on any additional mitigations.
• attend the Fire Strategic Fire Group providing technical reports , assessments and monitoring assurance reports
• work closely with the existing fire safety team
