Job summary

Leeds Trinity University is seeking an experienced Financial Transactions Manager to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will lead and manage the University's transactional finance activities, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial operations while maintaining strong financial controls.

This urgent appointment requires a finance professional with leadership experience, who can quickly establish credibility, support auditors, and drive process

Qualifications

• Significant experience within a finance operations, transactional finance or financial control role.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to make sound professional judgements and manage competing priorities effectively.
• A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day operation of the Finance Office and ensuring finance activities are delivered efficiently and accurately.
• Managing and developing a team of Finance Assistants, allocating workloads, monitoring performance and supporting continuous improvement.
• Providing expert financial guidance to colleagues across the University and supporting sound financial decision-making.
• Acting as a key contact for internal and external auditors and coordinating the provision of financial information.
• Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial controls are robust and effective.
• Managing bursary payments and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funding requirements.
• Leading process improvements, system enhancements and finance-related projects that improve efficiency and service delivery.
