Job summary

Eaton Syalon Ltd is partnering with a high growth SME manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Interim Financial Controller for an initial 6-month engagement in Swadlincote. The role is hybrid with day-rate remuneration.

The successful candidate will own the monthly management accounts, oversee the month-end process, and provide robust financial control across the P&L and balance sheet while supporting budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Experience producing and owning monthly management accounts.
• Solid understanding of the P&L, balance sheet and month-end process.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or similar operational environment.
• Experience in an SME where responsibilities are broad and priorities can change quickly.
• Strong financial control and balance sheet experience.
• Confident communicating with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts.
• Managing the month-end process, ensuring reporting is accurate and timely.
• Reviewing the P&L and balance sheet and ensuring robust underlying numbers.
• Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Completing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigating variances and providing commentary on business performance.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow requirements.
