Job summary

Allen Lane Interim & Permanent Recruitment partners with a growing multi-site organisation to hire an Interim Financial Controller in London. The 3–6 month contract pays £400–£450 per day and is office-based four days per week.

The role leads the finance function during a period of development, system enhancements and process improvements, delivering robust reporting, strong controls and a high-performing finance team. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience at Financial Controller level.
• Strong finance systems and process improvement experience.
• Experience leading finance teams.
• Experience managing month-end, statutory accounts and audit processes.
• Excellent governance, controls and compliance knowledge.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Desirable experience in a multi-site organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance function with coaching and development.
• Review, improve and embed finance processes, systems and controls.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of finance information systems.
• Ensure timely month-end close and management reporting.
• Oversee cashflow, treasury, budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage payroll, VAT, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Produce high-quality management information for decision-making.
• Lead audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure governance and procurement controls are in place.
• Support growth initiatives and site expansion projects.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across finance and operations.
