Job summary

Altum Consulting is partnering with a leading international FMCG business to recruit an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a 6-month day-rate assignment based in London with hybrid working.

You will own financial control, reporting and Dutch entity compliance, lead month-end close, manage balance sheet reconciliations, and collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, HR and group finance to support commercial decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience as Financial Controller in an international business.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards and Dutch filings.
• Experience reporting for a Dutch entity.
• Background in FMCG, consumer goods, retail or similar fast-paced environment advantageous.
• Strong technical accounting skills, with month-end and year-end processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management across international teams.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with ability to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of financial control and reporting for the Dutch entity.
• Lead the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting within tight deadlines.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, local statutory reporting and filing requirements.
• Support Group consolidation and reporting requirements.
• Partner with FP&A, Payroll, HR and wider Finance teams.
• Provide financial insight and support commercial decision-making in the Dutch market.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency and internal controls.
• Act as the key finance contact for the Dutch entity throughout the assignment.

6-Month Contract | Day Rate | London / Hybrid

I am currently partnering with a leading international FMCG business to recruit an experienced Interim Financial Controller for an initial 6-month day-rate assignment.

This is a hands‑on role taking ownership of the financial control, reporting and statutory compliance for the Dutch entity. Working within an established international finance function, you will partner closely with local and Group stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, robust controls and an efficient month-end close.

The ideal candidate will have:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Proven experience operating as a Financial Controller within an international business.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards, statutory reporting and local filing requirements.
• Experience managing the financial reporting of a Dutch entity.
• A background in FMCG, consumer goods, retail or a similarly fast‑paced environment would be advantageous.
• Strong technical accounting skills, with experience managing month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across international teams.
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to hit the ground running.
