Job summary

A leading global media company is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for an ASAP-start interim contract in Waterloo. This highly technical role involves preparing statutory financial statements, supporting audits, and contributing to finance transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with strong external audit experience and proficiency in UK GAAP and IFRS. This position requires a commitment of four days per week onsite and includes significant interaction with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years PQE.
• Big 4 training strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual external audit process.
• Lead preparation of Group consolidated and UK statutory financial statements.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Act as key liaison between teams and stakeholders.
• Support month-end close process.
• Review monthly balance sheets and reconciliations.
• Prepare tax computations and liaise with advisors.
• Manage ad-hoc analysis requests.
• Uphold financial controls and compliance.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives.

Skills

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)

Experience auditing statutory financial statements

Technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP & IFRS)

Strong analytical capability
