Job Description

Interim Financial Accountant job with a large Glasgow based establishment for an initial 9-month period with scope to become permanent.

Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the production of annual financial statements for the organisation and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with UK and US GAAP
  • Coordinating external audit planning and manage reporting timelines
  • Leading accounting for endowment funds and associated investment assets
  • Overseeing the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals
  • Managing insurance processes including policy renewals, claims, risk mitigation, and stakeholder liaison
  • Performing key month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining financial records for subsidiary companies, including preparation for board reporting
  • Submitting financial returns to regulatory bodies and responding to finance-related queries
  • Supporting continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and contributing to strategic projects

The Individual:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (e.g. ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent)
  • Strong up to date knowledge of the technical accounting environment in the UK
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a large organisation is desirable
  • Must be available within 4 weeks’ notice
