Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is supporting a respected charity in Wakefield with an Interim Finance / Systems Manager role. You will work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the smooth operation of core financial processes and to support the wider business.

The role covers cash flow, treasury, VAT reporting, PAYE administration, payroll oversight and production of management accounts, while also contributing to systems rollout initiatives with hands-on experience in system integration.

Interim Finance / Systems Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the region's most recognisable and respected charities.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day management of the finance function, ensuring the smooth running of core financial processes while providing valuable support to the wider business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Cash flow and treasury management
• VAT compliance and reporting
• PAYE administration
• Payroll oversight
• Production and review of management accounts
• Supporting financial controls and process improvements
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders across the business

This role would suit a qualified accountant or an experienced Qualified by Experience (QBE) finance professional who enjoys being hands‑on and making a genuine impact within a finance team. You will be highly organised, possess excellent attention to detail, and be confident identifying opportunities to enhance processes and improve efficiency.

In addition to overseeing key finance activities, you will be called upon to add bandwidth to a pending Systems Roll out, hence the need for someone with prior Systems integration or roll out experience.

We don’t need a systems accountant, but working knowledge of Systems roll outs etc is necessary for this role.

This is a rewarding interim assignment where your expertise and proactive approach will be highly valued from day one.
