Morgan Law Partners Llp is seeking an Interim Finance Business Partner for Children Services in London. This six-month contract role requires CCAB or CIMA qualification and a track record of finance business partnering within a local authority setting.

On-site in London two days per week, with robust budgeting and stakeholder engagement responsibilities. Responsibilities include budgeting, variance analysis, audit responses, and delivery of financial training and guidance to Budget Managers.

Qualifications

• CCAB or CIMA qualified with post-qualification experience
• High level of attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience in Children’s Social Care within a local authority environment
• Strong strategic Finance Business Partnering experience within a local authority setting

Responsibilities

• Prepare the annual budget for the service area, including the development of complex staffing budgets following service reorganisation.
• Prepare monthly budget monitoring reports, including detailed variance analysis, identification of cost pressures, and provision of clear financial commentary.
• Respond to external audit queries and provide additional financial information and supporting documentation as required.
• Provide high-level financial advice, guidance, and support to the Service Director and Senior Managers.
• Maintaining and updating the corporate grants register and financial training manual, as well as delivering financial training and guidance to Budget Managers.
