Job summary

Nottinghamshire company is seeking an interim Finance Manager for a 6-month contract. You will lead the month-end process, prepare management accounts, analyse COS to AV and GM against Budget/Forecast/Std, and reconcile VAT. The role is hybrid: 2–3 days on site weekly with remote work and an ASAP start.

Applicants should be fully qualified finance professionals with manufacturing experience and be able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment with no handovers.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end process, prepare management accounts, and provide commentary and variance analysis.
• Analyse COS to AV and GM, compare to Budget/Forecast/Std.
• Interrogate stock bookings to understand COS variances (materials and labour).
• Run periodic stock takes and report variances.
• Ensure labour costs are reported timely and align with Std labour.
• Reconcile VAT and perform ad-hoc tasks.

Job description

Nottinghamshire company is looking to appoint an interim Finance Manager for a 6 month commitment.

The role will be managing the following key tasks:

• Leading the month-end process, including preparation of management accounts, investigating any discrepancies in the accounts, providing commentary and variance analysis
• Analyse and Interpretation of Monthly COS to Added Value (AV) and Gross Margin (GM) with comparisons to Budget/Forecast/Std
• Be able to interrogate Stock bookings to understand the COS variances; both materials and labour
• Run periodic Stock takes and report variances.
• Ensure Labour Costs are accurate and reported on a timely basis and investigate how this aligns with Std labour
• Month end duties
• Reconcile VAT
• Ad-hoc tasks

This role will suit ideally a fully qualified finance professional who is used to working interim contracts. You MUST have experience of working for manufacturing companies so that you can demonstrate the ability to really hit the ground running in a fast paced environment with no handovers. This role is being hired on a fixed term contract basis, is hybird so 2-3 days on site each week with rest remote & is to start ASAP.
