Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities and month-end close processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with accounting standards.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial records; analyse performance for insights.
• Prepare monthly and annual management reports.
• Support year-end audits and tax reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Partner with senior leadership to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Lead, coach and develop members of the finance team.
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high-quality financial reporting.

Location: Manchester - Hybrid Working

We are partnering with a successful and growing organisation looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join their finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with business partnering and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities and month-end close processes
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with relevant accounting standards
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accounting records Analyse financial performance, identify trends and provide actionable insights
• Prepare monthly and annual management reports
• Support year-end audit processes and tax reporting requirements
• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
• Partner with senior leadership to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
• Support cost-saving initiatives and process improvement projects
• Evaluate financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies

• Support training, mentoring and performance development activities

Candidate Profile:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
