Job Title
Interim Finance Manager - £300 to £400 day rate DOE - Remote

FryerMiles is partnering with a Multi-Academy Trust to recruit an Interim Finance Manager.

This role supports the Finance Director in managing the Trust's finances and assets effectively and efficiently.

The duties of the Finance Manager include:

  • Supporting the Finance Director with financial management, planning, and reporting across the Trust and its academies.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing management accounts, statutory reports, and internal/external reports.
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Overseeing monthly payroll and handling VAT, local authority, and government returns.
  • Line managing Finance Officers and supporting their professional development.
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers and reviewing purchase/sales ledgers.
  • Ensuring timely reconciliations of balance sheet codes.
  • Assisting with cost-saving initiatives and contract negotiations.
  • Supporting lettings management and providing financial reporting and budget control to budget holders.
  • Ensuring robust corporate governance and internal controls.
  • Leading or supporting tender processes and procurement to ensure value for money.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc financial projects as needed.

The successful Finance Manager will:

  • Have experience working within schools or public services.
  • Be involved with payroll and account management.
  • Have worked with the government pension scheme.
