Job description

A highly successful company based near Harrogate seeks an Interim Finance Manager to cover a 9 month maternity leave.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the UK Finance Manager is responsible for managing and reporting upon all ledgers and transactions for the UK entities. This includes maintaining and ensuring accuracy of all accounting records for the UK trading entities, ensuring fiscal compliance and providing commercial insight into the senior management team.

The Finance Manager will also be responsible for supervising, mentoring and training the accounting team, and assisting with the setting, monitoring and formal review of performance and agreed KPIs.

Main duties
  • To prepare the UK element of the monthly management information (MI) pack, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow/working capital statements; unit sales and margin analysis, complimentary digital analytics and national sell through data; all relevant comparatives to PY and budgets set.
  • To maintain the UK entities balance sheet and ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis with supporting evidence and explanation where required.
  • To ensure the accuracy and completeness of all accounting records for UK companies; documenting, reviewing and streamlining accounting functions and operations where possible.
  • To have oversight of both the purchase and sales ledger, minimising working capital requirements and support the finance assistants in achieving their KPIs.
  • To ensure the UK entities meet all of their fiscal and reporting requirements in terms of Payroll, VAT, Corporation Tax and accounting.
