Overview

My Local Government client is looking to recruit an Accounting and Technical Finance Manager on an ongoing basis who will be responsible for managing the Statement of Accounts Audit and statutory Collection Funds. The role will be remote, with the possibility of attending the office in Bristol once a month.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and guidance to managers to improve business performance and deliver the corporate vision, priorities, and values.
• Deliver timely financial and management accounting services, including budgeting, medium- and long-term financial planning, project support, forecasting, in-year financial reporting (including the closure of the annual accounts) and control.
• Identify, develop, and support opportunities and initiatives to transform the delivery of financial services across the Council, including debt management and governance.
• Act as a key consultative role in the strategic and operational development of wide-ranging services, drawing on specialist expertise and providing confident and clear management to ensure delivery of agreed objectives.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified accountant.
• Previous experience in Local Government finance.

Logistics & Compensation

The rate being offered is £550 a day inside IR35.
