Interim Finance Business Partner - Property Development

Have you successfully business partnered on complex property development projects? Do you bring sharp financial insight and a deep understanding of construction and development lifecycles? Ready to step into an interim role where your expertise will directly shape outcomes during a pivotal transition? If yes, read on!

A leading property developer in the Midlands is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner to support their development and construction divisions during a critical transitional period.

This is a key role, working closely with operational teams to provide strategic financial insight and drive strong commercial outcomes as the organisation begins to scale down its development activity over the next 6–9 months.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing robust financial support to development projects including external construction schemes, internal build programmes, and a manufacturing facility.
  • Business partnering with project managers and senior stakeholders to assess financial performance, monitor cash flow, and track project milestones.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting, and identifying risks and opportunities across the programme.
  • Collaborating with the central finance team to ensure accurate accounting and timely reporting.
  • Supporting the implementation of improved financial processes and controls to increase transparency and accountability.

The successful candidate:

  • A qualified accountant with a strong track record as a finance business partner, ideally within property development, housing, or construction.
  • Advanced Excel skills, and experience with industry-specific systems such as ProVal or equivalent.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A self-starter who is comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
