Job description

Working for a leading public sector organisation in central Essex, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality financial advice within a core service area. The role involves providing comprehensive support and innovative advice to all levels of management and Members across the finance functions, focusing on costs and risks.

Accountabilities

• Supporting the business by understanding all financial assets, liabilities, and priorities for a business operation, and presenting options to senior managers to drive change and improve efficiency to meet strategic objectives.
• Partnering with and supporting Service Directors and stakeholders to carry out financial performance management, pricing, and investment analysis. Supporting the business planning process by advising senior managers.
• Providing high-quality and timely management information to support business development, using insightful and predictive analysis, and optimizing financial modelling and commercial acumen.
• Supporting cross-organisational projects and ensuring the inclusion of commercial and value considerations to drive transparent and robust decision-making.
• Collaborating with Senior Finance Business Partners and Management Accountants in developing and reviewing financial policies and plans.
• Ensuring the delivery of value-for-money services, evidenced by benchmarked cost driver comparators to analyse financial trends and drive efficiencies.
• Supporting the timely preparation of robust business cases and decision-making by quantifying associated costs, benefits, risks, and funding solutions, and being accountable for the financial implications.

Requirements

• Full CCAB / CIMA qualification
• Experience in applying financial management and frameworks, preferably in the public sector, through a full financial cycle.
• Evidence of improving financial systems and processes with a strong focus on delivery and performance.

This role is based at central offices in Chelmsford with hybrid working. It offers up to £550 per day, paid via an Umbrella company as stipulated by the client.
