Job summary

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is seeking an experienced Interim Engineering Manager for an initial 6-month contract, on-site at Doncaster. The role pays £450 per day and starts immediately.

You will lead a team of eight engineers across multiple shifts, ensuring safe maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical assets and providing technical leadership in a live operational environment. The role requires strong HV experience, a background in complex safety-critical settings, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering background with supporting mechanical knowledge.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and substations.
• Excellent understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures.
• Previous engineering management or team leadership experience.
• Experience in complex operational or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of eight engineers across multiple shift patterns.
• Ensure safe maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical assets.
• Provide technical leadership within a live operational environment where reliability and service continuity are essential.
• Support reactive maintenance activities and participate in an on-call escalation process.
• Work closely with operational and asset management teams to drive performance, compliance and continuous improvement.
