Job summary

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is seeking an experienced Interim Engineering Manager for an initial 6-month contract, on-site at Doncaster. The role pays £450 per day and starts immediately.

You will lead a team of eight engineers across multiple shifts, ensuring safe maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical assets and providing technical leadership in a live operational environment. The role requires strong HV experience, a background in complex safety-critical settings, and collaboration

• Previous engineering management or team leadership experience.

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Engineering Manager to join Doncaster Sheffield Airporton an initial 6-month contract.

The Opportunity

Rate:£450 + PER DAY

Working Pattern:

Site-based.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 8 engineers across multiple shift patterns.
• Ensure the safe and effective maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical assets.
• Provide technical leadership within a live operational environment where reliability and service continuity are essential.
• Support reactive maintenance activities and participate in an out-of-hours on-call escalation process.
• Work closely with operational and asset management teams to drive performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

Essential Experience

• Strong electrical engineering background with supporting mechanical knowledge.
• Experience working with high-voltage systems and exposure to substation environments.
• Excellent understanding of electrical systems, safety procedures and operational processes.
• Previous engineering management or team leadership experience.
• Experience within complex, operational or safety-critical environments.

Desirable Experience

• Aviation, transport, logistics, manufacturing, utilities or other large operational environments.
• Exposure to automated systems, materials handling equipment, security infrastructure or similar critical assets.
• Experience managing maintenance delivery where operational downtime must be carefully controlled

Working Arrangements

• Site-based.
• Monday to Friday.
• Participation in an on-call rota with additional payments available.
• Interviews will be held face-to-face.
