About the Role

Anemoi is seeking an experienced and proactive Interim Engineering Design Manager to cover a period of maternity leave. This role is critical in maintaining the continuity of our product development efforts and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Engineering team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Director and other departments to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes aligned with Company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Technical Director to maintain and deliver Anemoi’s product development strategy, ensuring engineering projects align with company objectives and market demands.
• Plan and schedule engineering activities, prioritizing tasks to meet key deadlines and support ongoing business needs.
• Manage internal and external resources for engineering design projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery of new designs and design updates, including responsibility allocation and budget oversight.
• Coordinate with Sales, Projects, and Production teams to align priorities, manage cross-functional plans, and meet shared deadlines.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of individual engineering design projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, budgets, and customer requirements.
• Specify and lead design improvements, working with internal teams or external consultants to enhance product functionality, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage the R&D budget for external spend and support the Technical Director in overseeing the Engineering team’s overheads budget, in collaboration with the Finance team.
• Develop and monitor engineering processes to ensure high-quality, efficient project execution, and support broader organisational process improvement initiatives.
• Provide regular updates and reporting on engineering activities to the management team and board.
• Provide line management to Engineering team members as required during the interim period.
• Offer day-to-day technical support and guidance across the Engineering, Projects, Production, and Sales teams, ensuring smooth operations and fostering collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• Over 10 years of professional experience in engineering roles
• Demonstrated leadership in managing and delivering complex engineering projects
• Proven experience in line management, including team supervision and development
• Proficient in engineering and project management software tools including Microsoft Project and Excel.
