Job Title: Interim Education Development Officer
Location: West Berkshire
Contract: Interim (Full-Time)
Rate:£65 to £67 per hour
Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension)

Are you an experienced education professional with a passion for strategic development and school improvement? We are currently seeking an Interim Education Development Officer to join a dynamic team in West Berkshire, supporting the delivery and enhancement of education services across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the development and implementation of education initiatives and improvement strategies in line with local authority priorities.
  • Support schools, academies, and educational settings to raise standards and improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Work closely with headteachers, education leaders, and external partners to support effective leadership and governance.
  • Analyse educational performance data to identify trends, areas for development, and opportunities for intervention.
  • Contribute to policy development and the delivery of statutory functions within the education department.
Essential Criteria:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a local authority or education setting.
  • Strong understanding of national education policy and school improvement frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work strategically and influence senior leaders.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
  • Experience working within West Berkshire or a similar local authority.
  • Knowledge of SEND and inclusion best practices.
