Find where you belong!

Are you passionate about creating safe, high-quality environments while maximising value and performance? Do you have the vision and expertise to elevate operational excellence and spearhead a transformation programme in our maintenance function? Are you ready to shape a dynamic team and drive the future of maintenance for an industry-leading budget hospitality brand? If so, our Director of Maintenance position is your perfect next career move.

What’s it all about?

As our Director of Maintenance, you will lead our maintenance function, which operates as a reactive maintenance business with circa 200 maintenance engineers and an outsourced supply chain of specialist contractors completing over 400,000 maintenance jobs per annum.

Your team will be responsible for ensuring our rooms are available for sale, our hotels provide safe environments for both customers and colleagues, and that we maintain high-quality standards. You will prioritize work that matters most to our customers while managing ongoing refurbishment cycles, all while being commercially aware of our budget and cost controls.

You will lead the transformation of our future maintenance model, including decisions on in-sourcing vs. outsourcing, balancing reactive and planned maintenance, leveraging data and AI, and developing a strategic plan to maximise value and operational performance. You will also oversee the technical supply chain in partnership with our central procurement team to drive optimal value for Travelodge.

Why Travelodge?

We believe in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can be their true self and belong. We work hard to improve the wellbeing of our teams and celebrate our successes. We care about our colleagues’ wellbeing, so we provide resources to support emotional, physical, financial, and work wellbeing. We call this “Better Me”.

Who will this appeal to?

You will be a passionate and seasoned leader with substantial experience leading large-scale teams and resources. You will be comfortable working at a strategic level while having the agility to get hands-on when required and will be capable of navigating significant transformation programmes.

The ability to operate with credibility and integrity with senior stakeholders is essential. Strong leadership, coaching, and monitoring skills are paramount.

You will be a self-starting, confident, articulate communicator with experience developing strategic plans and business cases. You will demonstrate adaptability and innovation, with a proven record of making data-driven business decisions and considering automation and AI in future plans.
