Interim Director of Corporate Services | Cardiff/hybrid working | Public Sector

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to work closely with the Chief Executive and senior management team in managing financial control and reporting, supporting the setting of the strategic direction for the organisation and providing quarterly and annual monitoring and reporting from a financial perspective.

Plan the budget in the context of the development of the annual Operational Plan and three-year Strategic Plan. Lead the monitoring of financial performance, advising senior managers on the financial aspects of their programmes as appropriate and giving monthly financial performance reports to the senior management team and regular reports to senior managers. Ensure that monthly reconciliations are carried out promptly and monitor their completion. Ensure a full suite of financial procedures, controls and documentation and ensure ongoing adherence to these by the business and its employees. Ensure effective treasury management and reserves strategies. Ensure robust accounting procedures and prepare accounts for audit annually. Oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring appropriate procedures are in place and adhered to by employees. Oversee the management of employee and member payroll, pensions and employer statutory deductions. Ensure compliance with Welsh Government financial conditions within the annual funding and grant offer letters including the draw down of Welsh Government funding on a regular needs-only basis, liaising with officials as appropriate and regular financial reporting. Oversee financial accounting systems/software and manage IS team.
