Job description

TristoneNash are supporting a housing provider in their search for an Interim Director of Asset Management for a 6-9 month contract working INSIDE IR35. The core purpose of this role is to ensure effective stewardship of the organisations property assets through effective and efficient management of their homes and wider estate, including repairs and maintenance, asset strategy, asset investments, estates, heat networks and building safety. You will be responsible for ensuring that they meet its statutory duties ensuring compliance and adherence to health, safety, statutory, legislative and regulatory standards across the entire Corporate Estate.


Job role:
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of the Group Asset Management Strategy, ensuring customer/resident focused services that are versatile, relevant, and align with strategic priorities.
  • Establish appropriate procedures to provide assurance to the GEDO, Executive Team, and Board that the asset strategy is being effectively and efficiently monitored and delivered.
  • As the accountable person, lead the Group’s approach to all aspects of safety, legal and regulatory compliance arising from the property portfolio.
  • Ensure high-quality service standards, continuous measurement and improvement through the delivery of property and investment services.
  • Lead the Group’s approach to property and place investment and maintenance by ensuring appropriate short, medium, and long term corporate and financial plans are in place.
  • Ensure a process of continual learning and development exists to generate efficiencies and an evolution of practice within the department.
  • Responsible with other Operations directorate members of the Leadership Team for providing an integrated service for customers/residents.
  • Represent the Group and build networks at national and local levels, continually monitoring, planning, and responding to the changing operating environment.
  • Deputising for the GEDO and carrying out any other duties required by the GEDO in the delivery of the corporate and strategic plans for the resource directorate.

Experience required:
  • Proven ability in developing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, setting clear strategies and driving outcome focused performance whilst supporting and promoting colleague wellbeing.
  • Evidence of developing and establishing process that effectively deliver against strategic priorities, through effective policies and risk management within an assurance and governance framework.
  • Commercially minded yet committed to compliance with relevant legislation and regulation within an empowering assurance framework.
  • Degree, a property related professional qualification (MRICS, CIOB CEng or similar) with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Extensive experience of property management, maintenance, construction, property acquisition and disposal and development.
  • A thorough understanding of the statutory and regulatory framework within the service area, particularly in relation to asset management strategy, construction, landlord health and safety, maintenance, energy, contract management and conservation.
