Job summary

Tile Hill is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy S151 Officer to lead and support the council's finance function, focusing on year-end readiness, statutory accounts and reporting.

The role requires senior local government finance experience and a qualified accountant (CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA/ACA), with the ability to challenge and develop the team.

The assignment is for six months, IR35 inside, with ASAP start; part-time option (3/4 days) and on-site presence required for at least two days per week.

Job description

Interim Deputy S151 Officer

We’re looking for an experienced local authority finance professional to step into a senior interim assignment and provide additional technical capacity and leadership to a council finance function. The role will have a particular focus on year-end readiness, statutory accounts, financial reporting, alongside supporting and developing the wider finance team.

We’re keen to hear from candidates who:

• Have operated at senior level within local government finance
• Bring strong technical accounting knowledge
• Have significant year-end and statutory accounts experience
• Are a CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified accountant
• Can provide credible challenge, identify gaps and be a safe pair of hands

This is initially a 6-month assignment, inside IR 35, with an ASAP start. The authority is open to part time (3/4 days per week), although candidates will need to be on site for a minimum of 2 days per week.
