Overview

Job Title: Interim Deputy Head

Location: South Gloucestershire

Start date: ASAP

End date: Easter

Pay rate: To scale (equivalent daily rate to what the school would offer)

An exciting opportunity as arisen for an experienced senior leader to join the SLT as an Interim Deputy Head at an Ofsted rated Good Primary School in South Glos. This is a priority hire due to maternity cover so the successful candidate will need to be able to start immediately.

Responsibilities / Requirements

• Experienced senior leader in curriculum, teaching & learning, and staff development
• Doesn't necessarily need prior deputy head title, but must be able to hit the ground running
• Strong track record in raising standards and supporting teachers

Key Focus Areas

• Teaching & Learning leadership with a proven track record of impact
• Curriculum implementation (new scheme in place, resources mapped)
• Monitoring fidelity and maintaining high standards
• Supporting staff CPD and classroom practice
• Line management responsibilities, with some teaching/cover

Context

• Good Ofsted (Nov 2023)
• Strong SLT in place: Head + Assistant Head, seeking an additional senior leader to stabilise teaching & learning
• Full-time post, immediate start, contract until Easter
