Job description

Title: Interim Contract Management Lead
Location: Wiltshire (1 day per week onsite) | Duration: Up to 6 Months | Temporary Contract


Are you ready to make a significant impact in the public services sector? Our client is seeking a dynamic Interim Contract Management Lead to join their team and drive excellence in contract management. If you're passionate about improving value, compliance, and supplier performance, this is the role for you!


Note: This role falls inside IR35 regulations.


Purpose of the Role:
As the Interim Contract Management Lead, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and embedding effective contract management frameworks and practises. Your expertise will ensure that our client maximises value from their contracts while maintaining compliance and enhancing supplier relationships.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop & Implement: Create a robust contract management methodology based on contract classification (Gold/Silver/Bronze).

  • Ownership of Corporate Contracts Register: Ensure it is shared with relevant stakeholders to promote collaboration.

  • Transparency Compliance: Manage all obligations under The Procurement Act 2023 to ensure full compliance.

  • Contract Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of existing contracts to identify risks, value, and improvement opportunities.

  • Support & Train: Provide support and training to designated contract owners and managers.

  • Supplier Performance Management: Introduce practises including KPIs and regular review meetings to monitor performance.

  • Identify Opportunities: Find avenues for renegotiation or early exit from contracts when beneficial.

  • Transition Planning: Assist in planning for a seamless transition from interim to permanent resources.


Essential Requirements:



  • Proven experience in contract management within complex public sector environments.

  • Deep knowledge of public contract law, risk mitigation, and supplier performance frameworks.

  • Experience in designing and rolling out contract management methodologies.

  • Strong influencing skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and non-specialists alike.
