Job Description:

A high-profile public sector organization is seeking to appoint a Communications Director for an initial six-month contract. The role requires previous Director-level experience within government, councils, or arms-length organizations, leading strategy and teams.

This position focuses on external communications and public affairs, stakeholder engagement during a period of change. The successful candidate will advise the leadership team, manage proactive media relations, and run campaigns highlighting the impact on regional economy and communities, as well as raise awareness nationally and locally.

The candidate must be able to forge strong relationships with government departments and political stakeholders, lead on reputation management, and craft a compelling narrative of the organization’s purpose.

Requirements include availability within one month or less, and experience as a senior communications leader operating as part of an executive leadership team. The candidate should be available to work in the office three days a week.
