Job Opportunity: Buyer (Temporary to Permanent)

I have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join my client based in Norwich on an initial temporary basis of six months. There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

The main focus for the successful candidate will be to assist the Procurement Manager and wider business in managing supplier performance, gathering market intelligence & insight, and executing contracts and stock management.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Operating ethically in all business activities with a high standard of service, professionalism, and integrity.
2. Supporting the development and management of a sustainable procurement and buying strategy across the business, including developing appropriate measurement tools.
3. Working with the Procurement Manager and others on sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract preparation, contract management, and supplier relationships across all business areas.
4. Promoting Supplier Relationship Management and actively engaging with key suppliers.
5. Collaborating with internal customers to optimise the supplier base and identify, evaluate, and develop new sources of supply to enhance the company's competitiveness.
6. Leading cross-functional activities to identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimisation, and added value.
7. Ensuring procurement cost savings are achieved or exceeded in line with annual targets to reduce business costs.
8. Maintaining a high level of knowledge in relevant market areas and providing market information to the business to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate threats.
9. Ensuring the continuity of supply of goods and services to the company.
10. Assisting the Procurement Manager in developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and strategies.
