Interim Building Surveyor - Capital Projects
Council in West Sussex
425- 450 per day (Inside IR35)
6-Month Contract Hybrid Working (1 Day from Home)

I'm working with a local authority in West Sussex looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to support their Capital Works programme on an interim basis.

You'll be joining a proactive and supportive team delivering a wide range of improvement works across a diverse housing stock of approx. 2,700 properties (houses and low-rise flats).



Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering capital improvement works, specifically kitchens and bathrooms

  • Supporting a mini-project to bring 40+ long-term voids back into use (originally earmarked for redevelopment), working closely with contractors

  • Contributing to the design and development stages of upcoming large-scale capital projects

  • Overseeing damp & mould refurbishment works across the housing stock

  • Ensuring works are carried out to a high standard, on time, and within budget



Requirements:

  • Qualified Building Surveyor with recent experience in social housing or public sector capital works

  • Strong project management and contractor liaison skills

  • Understanding of building pathology including damp & mould

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload
